My way of Yoga

"Every person's journey starts with the first breath and ends with the last. What we do with the breath we are given in-between is up to us."

My story

My personal Yoga journey started when I was but a few years old, practicing alongside my mother on her Yoga mat. After this, many years passed and I rediscovered Yoga as a regular practice for myself as an adult. With more than ten years of experience working out at the gym and sampling a variety of martial arts styles, I returned to Yoga with a weakened body and a weakened mind. I have since learned to balance strength and fire with fluidity and calm. On a physical level, this corresponds to building strength in poses where the body is not used to exerting it to achieve control - the equilibrium between flexibility and strength.

I strongly oppose dogmatic teaching and adhere to modern anatomical principles with my teachings while carrying a deep respect for the origins and traditions of Yoga. However, in the spirit of svādhyāya this entails questioning traditional anatomical sequencing.

In this manner, we can find the way between exhaustion and relaxation toward the ultimate balance and inner peace together.

My style

I am a RYS-200 certified Yoga instructor, with well over ten years of experience in personal training.

I have learned from many different and internationally acclaimed teachers, including Adam Husler, whose path focusses on anatomical precision to establish contact with the physical body. I share his belief that asana practice is the most accessible way to experience the most tangible thing in the universe, which is our own body.

In this spirit, my teaching style revolves around instructing poses that do not necessarily look fancy on instagram, but are effective in an anatomically sound way. If you practice and it feels easy, you may not be making progress. If it feels hard, you probably are.

However: it's okay to have some fun every now and then.

This is the reason I teach a diverse mix of open level Vinyasa, Hatha and Yin Yoga as well as Yoga Nidra and Meditation. For public classes I believe in the open level concept, so every student can find the variation that works for them at any given day.
